We have been made aware of Suspicious Email messages circulating the Financial Industry. These emails contain viruses which will encrypt the contents of your computer and associated networks. 

There are various indicators that suggest an email is suspicious; Misspelt Subject Lines and Titles, unrecognisable email addresses, hyperlinks directing to suspicious web addresses, Inconsistent prose in text of message. The snip included in this email is from an email we received today that is suspicious.  Although there is the  mention of a name we are familiar with and do receive legitimate mail from, this one just looked slightly off.  Upon closer inspection the hyperlink, when hovered over is revealed as being http://bit.ly/1pjpv  which is clearly odd and under no circumstances should be clicked on.  If you suspect that an email may be malicious, NEVER open it. DO NOT run/open any file attached to the email, and DO NOT click on any hyperlink within the email.

If you have received an email that you suspect might be unsolicited, DO NOT OPEN IT OR ANY ATTACHMENTS IN THE EMAIL.
