We performed an unscheduled restart of our remote desktop gateway server at 13:00 AEST today. The restart was to fix the error when connecting to integratedPRIVATE cloud services.

We have narrowed down the cause of the issue to be dead user sessions created over time by users failing to completely logoff the system at the end of the working day. Our solution to this will consist of applying Microsoft Recommended fixes to prevent dead user sessions from being created and eventually creating another remote desktop gateway for ultimate redundancy.

We will be applying the fixes on Saturday 15/08/2015 21:30 AEST. There will be a service interruption of 5-15 minutes. If you urgently require system access at this time, please let us know and we will arrange alternative access routes for you. We’d like to ask all users to please logoff the system properly at the end of each working day, not only to prevent the above issue but also to allow our automatic Windows security update service to apply critical updates (which require a reboot of the server which cannot happen if users are not logged off).

We do apologise for the service interruption. Should you have any queries, please do not hesitate to contact the office.
