Following the latest April 2026 Windows Security Update, Microsoft has changed how your local computer (the physical PC or laptop you are sitting at) interacts with your cloud server.
Because this update changes the login process for all integratedPRIVATE users, please read the following carefully to ensure you can still access your tools safely and efficiently.
What is happening?
When you run the update on your local Windows PC, Microsoft adds a new security "gatekeeper" for Remote Desktop connections. This is designed to prevent your local files from being shared with a remote server without your explicit permission.
The most important thing to know: These new pop-up warnings are coming from your own local computer, not from the integratedPRIVATE network.
The Security Risk: Why Microsoft added this
Microsoft is introducing these warnings to prevent Phishing attacks. A common tactic for cybercriminals is to send a malicious RDP file via email. If a user opens it, that file could "silently" connect to an attacker's server and instantly steal files from your local PC or record your audio/video.
Your Golden Rule for Security:
Never open an RDP file you weren't expecting. Only proceed with a connection if you have manually launched it to access remote.integratedprivate.com.au.
What you will see on your Screen
When you click your shortcut to log in, your local computer will now show a new security window.
-
"Unknown Publisher" Warning: Because integratedPRIVATE uses dynamic connection files, your local PC will flag the file as having an "Unknown Publisher." This is normal for our environment. You can safely proceed as long as you have verified the server address.
-
Resources are OFF by default: Previously, things like your local printer or the ability to copy-paste were turned on automatically. Now, your local computer disables these by default to protect your data.
How to get your tools back (and keep them on)
If you find that you can no longer copy-paste or see your local files once you are logged into the cloud, you must change the settings on the connection pop-up (on your local PC) before you click "Connect."
To avoid doing this every single time you log in, you must follow these steps:
-
To Copy & Paste: Manually check the box for "Clipboard".
-
To see your local files: Manually check the box for "Drives".
-
To Print: Manually check the box for "Printers".
-
SAVE YOUR SETTINGS: You must check the box that says "Don't ask me again for connections to this computer".
Note: If you do not check the "Don't ask me again" box, your local computer will reset these permissions to "OFF" the next time you try to log in, and you will have to select them all over again.
Summary of Action
-
Launch your connection as usual.
-
On the pop-up window appearing on your local computer, verify the address: remote.integratedprivate.com.au.
-
Check the boxes for the local resources you need (Clipboard, Drives, etc.).
-
Check the box for "Don't ask me again..." to remember these choices.
-
Click Connect.
